#1. Get rid of stains with organic ingredients

If oils, stains and grime are the issue at hand, forget astringent chemicals. Use organic oils instead. Look for astringent, natural ingredients such as lemon, lime and orange that can cut through oils and grime without leaving harmful chemical residue on surfaces. The Ecologic Everyday Cleaner comes in a Sweet Orange & Tangerine fragrance and will be all you need to keep your house spick and span.  With its combination of concentrated extracts and the essential oils known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties you'll be able to keep germs at bay as well as remove any nasty stains.

 #2. Flush safe

A hygienic toilet is a must but adding organic toilet cleaners to the bowl make for much safer flushing. Naturally Safe has organic formulations that will keep things smelling fresh and clean.  Try Ecologic Pine & Lemon Eucalyptus Toilet Cleaning Gel.

#3. Ditch toxic kitchen surface cleaners

The commercial household cleaners you’re likely to pick up at the supermarket do well at getting rid of bacteria but they can leave a toxic chemical hazard in their wake. Keep your place clean and healthy with a naturally formulated cleaner. We love MiEnviron BioPure Household Cleaner because it uses probiotics (the good bacteria found in yoghurt) to regenerate and repopulate your surfaces with healthy bacteria so they can dominate harmful disease causing bacteria. The result? A natural, healthy and clean house that’s safe for everyone. Use it often and you’ll stop bad bacteria from re-emerging on your bench-tops. Clever.

#4. Plunge the mop into natural suds

Get floors looking picture perfect without chemicals with potent organic ingredients such as soapwort, coconut and olive oil. Naturally Safe has floor cleaners spiked with organic extracts, which means your house will smell as good as spring itself post-clean.

 #5. Use biodegradable washing liquid

Your washing liquid goes straight down the drain once you’re done. Spare a thought for fish and other sea life by investing in a dishwashing liquid that has low eco-toxicity and high biodegradability. A good choice is MiEnviron Biodegradable Dishwashing Concentrate, which uses sugar-based surfactants to clean up the dinner plates.

 #6. Make your laundry low-impact

Clean your clothes while keeping the environment safe by using plant-derived surfactants in the washing machine – you’ll find that the natural alternatives are just as effective and much more gentle at washing clothes than commercially bought versions. Try Kinda 2 Laundry Powder. With no fillers, this potent mineral salt laundry powder won’t disturb the natural balance of our environment. Better yet, a little goes a long way so it’s kind on the household budget too.  Want a little softness in your wash, try adding a small amount of Ecological Lavender Fabric Softener to your load.
